Lions sign John Mitchell

John Mitchell will coach the Golden Lions in this year’s Currie Cup.

The GLRU announced on Sunday that the man from New Zealand John Mitchell will coach the Lions in this years Currie Cup, he will be assisted by Johan Ackermann (forwards) and Carlos Spencer (backs). Spencer will also play for the team at flyhalf or fullback.

Lions Super 14 coach Dick Muir, who is now back with the Boks, will work closely with Mitchell in the final four to six weeks of the Currie Cup.

Mitchell will return to Perth after the tournament in order to prepare the Force for their Super 15 campaign.
