Sharks coach John Plumtree has warned his players they need to put in the hard yards this week following numerous unforced errors during their loss against the Blue Bulls.
The Durban outfit’s seven-match unbeaten run came to an end in Pretoria on Saturday after they threw away a 24-13 half-time to lead to go down 40-34.
Plumtree admits he was not impressed by his side’s showing in the second half at Loftus.
“I am really disappointed in this result,” Plumtree is quoted on the Sharks website.
“We had the chance to put the Bulls away and we certainly let ourselves down in the second half with too many unforced errors.
“We seemed to go well in the first half when we built up a good lead, but unfortunately, we did not carry on and finish the job as we needed to.
“The unforced errors cost us and we need to put a stop to that. I will be hard on them this week and for the rest of our campaign because we are going to make life difficult for ourselves if we carry on with the silly errors; we can’t keep making them.”
Besides back-rower Keegan Daniel, who left the field after 30 minutes following an ankle injury, the Sharks have no other injury concerns ahead of their clash against the Pumas at Witbank on Friday.
“We’ll only know then the extent of the injury [to Daniel on Monday] but hopefully it isn’t too serious.
“Otherwise there were no other injuries to worry about.”
