Results from the weekends Currie Cup games have left us with a clear indication who will most likely feature in the semi finals in the coming weeks. The Western Province, Sharks and Bulls have booked their places in the semi finals leaving a single spot open for either the Cheetahs or the Griquas. The Lions gave it their all against the Sharks on Saturday to keep their hope alive but they fell just short of creating a huge upset by almost toppling the Sharks in Durban.
WP and the Sharks have claimed the all important home ground advantage for the semis with the Bulls set to keep their current position on the log and either The Cheetahs or the Griquas to join them, the Cheetahs should be the last team to complete the quartet seeing their last fixture is against the Boland. The Griquas will host the Sharks in their last match and their fate lies solely with them, they showed some early season promise but they will have to cause a massive upset in Kimberly against the current champions if they were to feature in the playoffs.
