The Free State Cheetahs’ Currie Cup campaign suffered another blow on Monday when lock Nico Breedt was sidelined for at least six months.
The 31-year-old former Sharks player has a serious neck injury that could threaten his career.
Breedt was examined by doctors Monday and told not to take part in any contact sport for the next six months when he will again be examined.
The news comes as major blow to the Cheetahs for whom Breedt is valuable leader.
